MAKO’S 4TH ANNUAL DEALING FOR DONATION DAY
1 September 2006
Building on the success of the last three years, this year saw Mako Group’s Dealing for Donation Day exceed even our highest expectations! With the help of many banks, brokers, clients, clearers and exchanges, Mako managed to smash the £250,000 target for 2006, recording an impressive £370,000 raised!
This amounts to over £900,000 raised since Dealing for Donation Day’s inception in 2003, with all funds having gone directly to the charities “Children in Crisis” (Reg. Charity 1020488) and “HOPEHIV” (Reg. Charity 1079385), both of whom Mako Group has been extremely proud to support:
Children in Crisis exists to improve the lives of children around the world affected by conflict, deprivation, poverty or other hidden crises, by working with local communities to provide education, healthcare and protection. (www.childrenincrisis.org.uk)
HOPEHIV seeks to offer children in sub-Saharan Africa who have been affected or infected by HIV/AIDS, the love, protection and support they need to build foundations of hope for the future, within their communities. They do this primarily by promoting innovation, education and leadership development. (www.hopehiv.org.uk)
Mako Group would like to thank all of our donors this year for their wonderful generosity. We have been delighted with the response from over 40 other contributors this year, not only here in London City but across the globe. We look forward to encouraging even more participants to be involved in next year’s event, which will no doubt build on the success of the annual Dealing for Donation Day, and help to make a real difference to even more children’s lives.
