OPTIONS TRADERS DEAL FOR CHARITY DONATIONS

1 May 2006

On 28th September 2006, Mako Group will again be hosting their “Dealing for Donation Day” to raise money for children affected by poverty and deprivation across the world. Now in its fourth successful year it has raised well over £500,000 and has helped children from Russia to Uganda.

Last year, Mako Group led over 40 city firms and financial institutions in donating a percentage of their trading revenues on the day to international charities HOPEHIV and Children in Crisis. “In an industry that is often viewed as ruthless, it’s fantastic to bring brokers and dealers together to change the future for so many children” said Ben Fitzimmons, chair of Mako Group’s charity committee. “I challenge all firms to get involved and make a difference in the best way we know how. Firms can participate in Dealing for Donation Day 2006 by pledging either a fixed sum or a proportion of profits or commissions on their trades on the 28th September this year.” Mako Group, apart from being active donors, will also be co-ordinating all pledges received on the day, on behalf of HOPEHIV and Children in Crisis, and a running total will be available on Mako Group’s website. All participants will receive a certificate and a report on the projects their donations have funded.
